ingredients
- 2 cups sugar
- 1⁄8 teaspoon cream of tartar
- 2⁄3 cup water
- any desired flavoring
- any desired food coloring
directions
- Combine sugar and cream of tartar with water.
- Stir until completely dissolved.
- Boil mixture until it reaches 290°.
- Add the amount of flavoring and the amount of coloring you wish.
- Test by dropping a small amount of the candy into cold water.
- If it forms immediately then it is ready.
- Remove from heat and pour into greased molds.
- When it is partially cooled, add wooden sticks to the center.
- Let cool off completely.

This recipe saved the day! Didn't have time to run out to the store to buy candy for our daughter's 3rd b-day party, went onto recipezaar.com and found this one! Oh my goodness....how awesome! These lollipops taste just like the ones you buy at high end stores. I added 10 drops of red food coloring, and 5 drops of cherry flavor and they taste just like jolly ranchers!!! Thank you sooooooo much for sharing this family recipe!! Will DEFINATELY make again and again.
