DIRECTIONS

  • Preheat oven to 325-350 F.
  • Cream sugar, butter, eggs and milk.
  • Sift in dry ingredients.
  • Add lemon rind.
  • Bake for one hour in loaf or tube pan till toothpick in centre comes out clean and edges are just barely golden.
  • Mix glaze ingredients. May be warmed on stove briefly, if necessary, to melt ingredients. Spoon over loaf while still warm--approximately 10-15 minutes after removing from oven.
