Keith's Sloppy Joes

"I got this recipe from my brother. I make this a lot. It makes a lot, but freezes well. Can be made on top of the stove or in a crock pot."

• Serves: 20

ingredients

• 5 lbs ground beef
• 1 large onion
• 5 teaspoons vinegar
• 1 teaspoon garlic salt
• 1 1⁄2 cups sugar
• salt and pepper
• 5 teaspoons mustard
• 1 teaspoon celery seed
• 3 cups ketchup

directions

1. Brown ground beef and onion; drain.
2. In a crockpot or large pot, combine all ingredients.
3. Simmer.
4. Serve on sandwich buns.

This is the same recipe my mom & I have made for years.. This is THE tastiest sloppy joe ever! We like to serve with lots of sliced dill pickles. Great to make ahead, freeze and then heat in crockpot while at work, or hunting or shopping for the day. Sometimes I will add a little extra mustard just for more zing!
