Hot Oriental Dipping Sauce

- 3⁄4 cup soy sauce
- 1⁄2 cup water
- 1⁄4 cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon white vinegar
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 12 slices fresh ginger
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 teaspoon lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon hot sauce
- 2 teaspoons cornstarch
- 1⁄4 cup cold water
directions
- Combine all ingredients except cornstarch and cold water in a saucepan, simmer 5 minutes.
- Dissolve cornstarch in cold water, add to pan.
- Cook, stirring constantly for 1 minute.
- Serve warm.
