Grandma's Hamburger Casserole

ingredients
- 1 lb hamburger
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- salt and pepper, to taste
- 1 (15 1/2 ounce) can green beans, drained
- 1 (16 ounce) carton cottage cheese
directions
- Brown hamburger and onion in a large skillet. Add salt and pepper. Add beans and cottage cheese. Mix well and put in a greased casserole dish. Cover top with crackers and pats of butter. Bake at 350 degrees for about 40 minutes or until top is brown.

This right up there in my comfort food list. I doubled the recipe because I had company and it came out very well. The only thing I added was a few fresh thin sliced mushrooms that we all love. Hope you didn't mind. As for the crackers I used one pack of Ritz crushed up and about 6-7 dabs of butter. It did come out a little crumbly but the taste was very good. You know that when a 2 and 5 year want more. Next time tho I think I'd only use half the crackers and a bit more butter. Thanks for quick and easy kid loved dish. We'll make here again thet's for sure. :-)
