Cinna Bread

"This is the end result of me deciding to combine about 5 recipes. It is a very interesting bread, very soft on the inside with a nice "crunchy" crust. I love it smothered in butter"

directions

  • Combine dry ingredients and set aside.
  • Mix oil, milk, eggs and vanilla.
  • Add wet mix to the dry mix.
  • Mix until JUST combined, if batter is lumpy that is FINE.
  • Cut up butter and toss with cinnamon.
  • Fold butter into batter.
  • If adding something in do at this point.
  • Pour into your baking vassal, (I use an old corny ware dish, a deep 9x9 should be fine).

  1. This is VERY Yummy.. it is so good warm out of the oven.. it makes the whole kitchen smell great... very moist with a crispy crust. I am anxious to try it toasted with a little butter for breakfast and with a cup of coffee. Way to go Lady Morrgain!

  2. OMGoodness! This is an awesome 'bread' recipe! I followed as written, adding about 1/2 c. chopped walnuts, to taste. I used a glass loaf pan, so reduced temperature by 25 degrees and baked for 18 minutes longer. I also froze my chopped butter, before coating with cinnamon, and dumped what didn't stick to butter. This is scrumptious. Light and crusty and tasty! I will share with others, as it is a simple recipe. Thanks for sharing, Lady Morrigan ~ Made for Fall PAC '09.

  3. YUMMMM!!! I added a full tablespoon of cinnamon as suggested in the recipe, and used 1/2 cup of splenda in place of the sugar and this bread came out awesome! I didn't add any raisins or nuts, just left as is and this is some seriously good cinnamon bread! Made for PAC Fall 09.

  4. This is an AMAZING bread recipe!!! The loaf was so light and spongy with a great cinnamon flavour. I was a little sceptical and thought it would be too much cinnamon, but it was just perfect! This is wonderful for a chilly fall/winters day when all you want is some hot tea and some yummy cake. Mmm, it is pure comfort food to me. I made only half the recipe and left out the raisins, but I think Ill add them next time just to see if the bread is very different then. Oh, and I reduced the sugar by half, which was still sweet enough for me. THANKS SO VERY MUCH for sharing this lovely recipe with us, Lady Morrgian! Ill definitely make it again! Made and reviewed for one of my babies during PAC Fall 09.
