  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • In a large bowl beat together butter, granulated sugar and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add eggs and vanilla and beat until combined.
  • In a separate bowl, stir together flour, cocoa, baking soda and salt; gradually add to butter mixture while stirring.
  • Do not over mix.
  • Stir in oats and nuts until combined. (Batter will be thick and stiff).
  • Drop by rounded tablespoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet.
  • Bake 11 to 12 minutes or until set; cookies will be slightly moist in the center. Try not to overbake. Cool 1 minute on cookie sheet and then transfer to wire rack to cool completely.
