Chocolate Date Drop Cookies

"from very old bordo date label .bakers has changed the squares so you need to add at least 2 more ,or a little cocoa"

• Yields: 1 batch

ingredients

• 1⁄2 cup butter
• 1 cup brown sugar
• 2 squares bakers chocolate, melted
• 2 eggs
• 1⁄4 teaspoon vanilla
• 1 1⁄2 cups flour
• 1 teaspoon cinnamon
• 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
• 1⁄2 teaspoon baking soda
• 1⁄2 cup milk
• 1 cup nuts
• 1 cup dates, chopped

directions

1. cream butter and sugar.
2. add chocolate and eggs.
3. and vanilla.
4. mix.
5. add sifted dry ingredients alternately with milk. you may
6. mix.( i needed to add 1/2 cup more flour ,it was still a loose batter,but it makes cake like cookies ).
7. fold in fruit and nuts.
8. drop by teaspoonful.
9. 2 inches apart.
10. on buttered baking sheet.
11. bake in moderate 350 degrees oven for 12 minutes.
