I felt this was a really fantastic meal. I have cooked it to taste however, and only used two onions rather than all four (was two large onionjs though!). I alss used vittoria tomatoes (all i had left in the fridge), but this meal was absolutely brilliant and tasted very close to how it is in the restaurant

Thank you very much for this recipe!!! would definitely recommend

With what the recipe posted ,the result would be ok .. because few important components missing ..1 st chicken need to be marinade , shoped onion +bay leaves + peper, salt and either little white wine or wine vinegar and the most important part herbal mix call Xhmeli-suneli ,I'm not sure about spelling ..that herbal mix ,kinda like a "secret" ingredient ,in Georgia in rural places its a home made mix , in a cities more often bought from store ,in USA many Russian food or Eropean or Macedonian stores, usually available too ,only after it's marinaded the other steps is come chicken need to be fryed or seared ,to the same pot or better to do in dutch oven ,add butter or oil, onion ,and all other ingredients, add little bit of water ,or if use "omG" canned tomatoes ,then don't ..bring to boil and then to simmer ,if you don't have time for marinade ,use white wine vinegar and after chicken and onion is browned ,add to the mix ...fresh lemons juice work well for alternative or white wine .. but don't miss those steps ,it would be as close as authentic food as possible . Hot naan bread is the closest alternative to Georgian flat bread -lavash ... Since i'm living in USA too and have a priveledge spend some time in Georgia ,actually across the Georgia with expedition ,I was part of . Unless you find true Georgian people who own a restaurant and continued traditions of homeland cooking ,You tube can be great help .
