  • Cook together all ingredients except vanilla until mixture forms soft ball when dropped into cold water.
  • Add vanilla and stir until desired consistency to spread.

  1. This was wonderful! I did add a couple of tablespoons of butter because I used milk instead of cream. When I was through boiling it, I beat it with the electric mixer. It got hard pretty quick. Next time I'll beat it by hand. ALSO: This is not a lot of icing. I didn't have enough to do a 2 layer cake. I put some in the middle and on top and then frosted the sides with chocolate icing because I ran out. If you are making a layer cake, double the recipe. It was delicious!!
