ingredients
- 1 cup butter, very soft
- 8 cups confectioners' sugar
- 1⁄2 cup whole milk
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
directions
- Place butter in a large mixing bowl - whip for 3-5 minutes until very fluffy.
- Add 4 cups of powdered sugar and combine well.
- Add milk & vanilla and continue to combine.
- Add powdered sugar, 1 cup at a time until frosting is thick and spreadable **you may not use all 8 cups**.

This is an awesome frosting! Thank you so much for sharing. It whipped up thick & beautiful and it wasn't too sweet or rich which is what I was afraid of. I used this on my sisters wedding cake and this recipe really saved my bacon. I was making it at the last minute to put on when the original frosting I made separated and literally glooped off the cake to puddle around the bottom.
