ingredients
- 1 cup butter, softened (or 2 sticks)
- 1⁄2 cup shortening
- 3 cups sugar
- 5 eggs
- 3 1⁄2 cups sifted flour (cake flour)
- 1 teaspoon baking powder, sifted with cake flour
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract (or other flavor)
directions
- Grease and flour Bundt pan.
- Cream butter, shortening, sugar, and eggs together.
- Beat until light and fluffy.
- Gradually add flour and milk alternately-beginning and ending with the flour.
- Add desired flavoring.
- Bake at 325 for 1 hour and 15 minutes.
