Bacon and Sausage Roll-Ups

- 12 slices bacon
- 1⁄2 lb pork sausage
- 8 ounces cream cheese
- 12 slices white bread
directions
- Cut each bacon strip in half.
- Cook bacon just until transparent; drain well and pat with paper towels to remove grease. If you are using the "ready-to-eat" bacon, you can skip this step.
- Cook sausage in a skillet and drain well.
- Mix cream cheese into sausage until well blended.
- Trim the crust off of the bread and cut each slice in half.
- Spread cream cheese mixture onto bread and roll up jelly-roll style.
- Wrap each bread roll with a piece of the bacon and skewer with a toothpick.
- Bake on an ungreased baking sheet at 350 degrees for 15 minutes.

These are great little appetizers and so easy to make. I only made half the recipe for the two of us. I used a nice wheat bread and spiced up the sausage mixture with 1/4 tsp garlic powder, 1/4 tsp onion powder with green onions and parsley, and a shake or two of crushed red pepper flakes. I had to bake mine about 30 minutes to get the bacon done, but that's my oven for you. Will make these again. Thanks loof. Made for PRMR Tag Game.
