- 1⁄2 cup salsa
- 1⁄4 cup plain breadcrumbs
- 3⁄4 cup shredded hot monterey jack pepper cheese
- 6 toasted hamburger buns
- 6 slices tomatoes
- 6 slices avocados
- 6 tablespoons salsa
- 6 tablespoons sour cream
directions
- In medium mixing bowl, combine ground beef, salsa and bread crumbs.
- Mix well and shape into 12 hamburger patties.
- No bigger than 4 inches in diameter and 1/4 inch thick.
- On 6 patties, sprinkle cheese on top of each patty.
- Place the remaining patties on top of the cheese covered patties to form a hamburger.
- Seal ends together by pressing the ends shut.
- Place on grill.
- Grill each side for 11 to 15 minutes or until your liking.
- Place cooked hamburger on bun topped with tomato, avocado, salsa and 1 Tablespoon sour cream.
- When doubling recipe, I found I needed to add more bread crumbs so the meat was the right consistency for a hamburger.

Burger night at Bergy's was super tonight! Great recipe The only thing that I did different was to put Hot pickled peppers instead of the salsa on top of the burger along with the tomato, Avacado & sour cream, The cheese in the middle gives a surge of flavor. I sauteed button mushrooms as a side dish and served with a green salad. Delicious Thanks Audry M 1 April 07 Made your burger again and took a couple of pictures this time. I used cottage cheese instead of sour cream - Delicious burger thanks again Audrey

I am a mother of three and live in central Pennsylvania. My children were very active in after school activities and found we weren't spending anytime together at meal time. In 1998, I decided to start cooking my dinners in a crockpot so that we could have a home cooked meal together once everyone came home. My children now get so excited to see what we are having to eat and love the smell when they walk in the door. My family calls me the crock pot queen. LOL I use my crock pot everyday of the year.
My three children are now in college and before they come home they request their favorite meal. I still continue to cook in the crock pot for my husband and I. It is nice after a long day to know your meal is ready. It also helps in keeping my grocery bill down. With zaar, I can print my shopping list and that is all I purchase is the ingredients on that list.
Now, my two daughters have been crock pot cooking while in college. They find it is easy to cook for the themselves and their friends. It is an easy way to have friends over for dinner after classes
I still love trying new recipes and purchasing cookbooks, especially crock pot cookbooks.
