Apple 'dump' Cake - No Cake Mix Needed!

ingredients
- 20 1⁄2 ounces apple pie filling (Comstock 'More Fruit')
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups sugar
- 1⁄2 cup canola oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1⁄4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
- 1 cup nuts (chopped)
directions
- Preheat oven to 325°.
- Grease a 9x13" pan.
- Excluding the Chopped Nuts, put all ingredients in a mixing bowl and beat on medium speed for 3 minutes.
- Add Chopped Nuts to mixture and pour into prepared pan and bake for 1 hour.
- PLEASE NOTE: The instructions end with 'bake for 1 hour' but it seems to me like this would be good served warm or completely cooled.

Hi There, I do agree that a cake is better made from scratch, this cake is exactly what you say a good cake to make when you are in a hurry. I made this just before serving dinner and when my dinner guest left to go home, he went home with half the cake. I made it to the recipe but when I make it again I would be inclined to put it in a wee bit smaller tin as it was a bit thinner than I would of liked. But it was a very nice cake it would be really nice with a custard sauce as a pudding, I think I will have that for lunch tomorrow. Thank you for a very nice recipe. Made for PAC spring 20010
