  • Pare apples and cut into thick slices.
  • Combine 1/2 cup sugar with cinnamon and 1 heaping tablespoon flour and mix with apples. Put in unbaked pie shell.
  • Blend remaining flour, sugar and butter. Work into small crumbs.
  • Sprinkle crumbs over apples.
  • Bake in a hot oven, 425, for 10 minutes, then lower temperature to 350 and bake 35 minutes more.
