Amazing Tuna Fish Casserole

"My mother made this for me when I was growing up. Now it is a favorite with my family. The cheese and soup create a wonderful flavor. Can also use canned chicken instead of tuna. I serve tiny new peas with this. My kids love it!"

  1. I loved this recipe! Very simple to make and delicious.

  2. I made this last night for my family and WOW they raved over it! My DH isn't much for tuna but the sauce the cheese and soup make compliment it wonderfully! One thing though, I melted the butter and poured it over the crumbled crackers in a bowl then tossed it to make sure all the crumbs were covered, then I covered the casserole with that. It was delicious.

  3. I used two cans tuna and added salt and pepper to taste. A delicious, comfort food meal.

  4. My 3 kids and husband really enjoyed this. I don't eat any warm tuna, so I didn't eat this. My husband said the only thing he would change would be to add peas and use Ritz crackers instead of saltines next time. I will be making this in the future on nights when I want something the rest of the family doesn't care for or on nights when I am not eating with them. Thanks for a budget friendly recipe that won over my picky crowd Missy Wright!

  5. DH & I really enjoyed this recipe. Unbelievably I didn't have any cream of mushroom so I used cream of chicken. It was stilll delicous. Also I added peas since the DH has a fit if there's nothing green in a dish (he also prefers documentaries to comedies). I just wanted some comfort food & this fit the bill. Thanks Missy.

  2. For how easy this meal was, it was delicious. As some people have already mentioned, I too added peas to the casserole as well as mixed the butter with the cracker crumbs instead of sprinkling the butter on top of the crumbs...it was awesome!

  3. yummmmm!!! comfort food at its best. i added little frozen peas just because i think tuna casserole should have it. if you really want to kick it up use crushed Ritz crackers instead of saltines. you won't be sorry you did! thanks for the easy and quick comfort food recipe!
