This is good all on its own or as a side dish! Its a very simple recipe because the yellow split peas already have a great flavor to them.
- 1 (16 ounce) bag yellow split peas, dried
- 1 carrot, sliced
- black pepper
- 1 onion, diced
- chicken stock
- Put all the ingredients into the pressure cooker, making the chicken stock reach about 1 1/2 inches above the peas, depending on how thick u like the soup.
- After the pressure cooker begins to whistle, let it boil for 15 minutes then shut it off.
4 1/2 stars this tastes good. DH said there was a taste in it he didn't love but it could have been the chicken stock I used. Made for Ramadan Tag 2010.
