  • Heat a non-stick waffle maker. Combine flour, whole wheat flour, oats, and baking powder in a medium bowl.
  • In a separate, small bowl, mish milk, egg, and oil until well blended. Add to flour mixture and stir until just combined (there will be some lumps.).
  • Spread batter onto hot waffle maker. Cook until waffle is golden brown and steam from waffle iron stops.
  • Dust with powdered sugar if desired and serve with fresh fruit and/or your favorite syrup.

  1. Really nice waffles. I made exactly as written and next time may add some cinnamon and/or vanilla to the batter for a little extra flavor. I loved how healthy this recipe is and will experiment with using soy milk and egg substitute to make it even healthier for my husband's heart. Thanks for posting this Ppaperdoll!

I'm an American living in London since I got married in 1994 (except for a brief stint in New Jersey, and then Luxembourg). I work part-time for a national charity and also study social sciences part-time with the Open University. Keeps me busy, but I still find plenty of time to cook and search for 'zaar recipes! I make a mean Christmas fruitcake complete with Fondant Icing and marzipan, but I still have a Christmas cookie party for my friends where I introduce (or subject!) them to all my favorite cookie recipes. My husband and two kids will happily eat Shepherd's Pie or Sloppy Joes, cheese and onion or grilled cheese sandwiches. The comparisons go on and on...
