Uncle Wayne's Bloody Mary

"My husband's uncle Wayne has a rather unique recipe for a bloody mary. I find it to be really refreshing!"

• Yields: 1 glass
• Serves: 1

ingredients

• 1 1⁄2 ounces vodka
• 1 1⁄2 ounces V8 vegetable juice
• 1 1⁄2 ounces water
• 2 teaspoons dill pickle juice
• 1 dash celery salt
• 1 dash crushed dill weed
• Tabasco sauce

directions

1. Mix and pour over ice! Uncle Wayne sometimes substitutes a dill pickle spear for the usual celery stick on the side.

WOW!! What a great drink. I have made it with both V-8 and tomato juice. It was good with both. The 2nd time I made it, I cut the water down to 1 ounce. It was the perfect amount for me. I ran out of regular Vodka but had Vanilla Vodka instead the 3rd time I made it. It wasn't bad. Gave it a unique flavor. For Pick a Chef Fall 06. Definitely different from the usual Bloody Mary. I decreased the amount of water to 1/2 oz. and used 3 drops of Tabasco per serving. Topped with freshly ground black pepper and a dill spear. Interesting combo.
