  • Blend together mashed turnips, egg, butter, savory, salt and pepper.
  • Stir well.
  • Place in buttered baking dish.
  • Sauce:.
  • Melt butter, stir in flour. Add milk, and stir til it forms a thick sauce
  • Pour sauce onto vegetables.
  • Sprinkle with grated cheese and bake 400F 25 mins or til cheese is melted.

  1. Aside from scaling in half, I followed the recipe ........ opting for old cheddar for the topping! I'm not a big turnip fan but this mixture was very good. The sauce on top didn't seem to go with or add anything to the dish .... next time, I'll skip it. Thanx Bluenoser!

i live in rural canada. i love to cook, penpalling, hockey,music, and wwe wrestling. also am a avid fishermen as well. my grandmother who was a great cook and baker (she owned and operated a bake shop for years) was my biggest inspiration for me learning to cook and bake.
