  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Grease two cookie sheets or line them with Silpat.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine the flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  4. In a large bowl, cream the butter and sugar until the mixture is light and fluffy.
  5. Add the vanilla and egg.
  6. Mix, scrape it down the sides of the bowl, and mix it again.
  7. Add the sour cream and mix it until it is combined.
  8. Add the flour mixture and mix it until it is combined.
  9. Drop the cookies onto the prepared cookie sheets 3 inches apart (they do spread).
  10. Bake the cookies for 15 minutes or until they are light brown.
  11. Cool them on the cookie sheets for 5 minutes, and remove them to wire cooling racks to cool completely.
