Tasty Turkey Burgers

"My favorite recipe for turkey burgers. Just enough seasonings to make them so much tastier than just plain old turkey burgers, plus the bread crumbs and other added ingredients "bulk up" the turkey, helping you to get more bang for your buck. I always have a few of these in the freezer for summer barbecues when I don't care to eat beef hamburgers (I have been known to tote one or two of these along with me to family barbecues to throw on the grill whenever I know that beef burgers are going to be the only main dish)"

Questions & Replies

  1. Does the calories per serving include a bun or is it just for the Turkey burger? Thanks for your help!

  1. These were delicious burgers Manda. My family and I thought they were very tasty indeed. I only added some salt and pepper. A very lean and healthy meal Thanks for sharing this.

  2. i felt that these were really bland for all the great ingredients that went into them! i also did not care for the consistancy of the burgers..they almost were like a meatloaf not a burger!

  3. Easy, healthy, and best of all very tasty. My husband loved them.

  4. Very moist and flavorful, but next time I'll add less breadcrumbs. The burgers had almost a meatloaf-y consistency, which was a little different than I expected. Still, very good!

  5. I won't need to make beef burgers ever again! This recipe is incredibly tasty. Only changes I made were to reduce the breadcrumbs to 1/4 cup, substitute liquid smoke for hot sauce, added salt, and made 4 1/4-lb patties. We will make these often - thanks!

Tweaks

  1. I did not add bread crumbs, just forgot but it was really good.

  2. Tried these out today and they were only ok. Things I changed: left out the bread crumbs and instead added 1T flax powder; also used 1T garlic powder instead of the fresh garlic. The spice and flavors just didn't come through for me. They weren't bad, just needed stronger flavor. Maybe I'll add more next time. Tasted more like a meatloaf recipe.

  3. I didn't have red pepper seasoning, so I used a little horseradish.

  4. Emerils Seasoning Blend in place of plain paprika. BAM!

I am a single gal, living on my own; currently working as an Occupational Therapist & living in Cumberland, MD. (It is "God's Country" out here...beautiful!) I LOVE to cook and bake, and love anything that looks, tastes, smells, or even closely resembles a veggie. I LOVE moo-cows, and therefore, cannot bring myself to eat any part of the adorable critters (i.e. NO RED MEAT!!) I love the outdoors, and pride myself on being the master griller on the fire pit. My mother's side of the family is 100% Polish, so I have an inborn passion for cooking...unfortunately, along with that comes a love of eating, too!! But, hey..u only live once, so I say "EAT, DRINK, and BE MERRY!!!"
