directions

  • Bring a large pot of water to a boil.
  • Add green beans and cook for 5 minutes.
  • Drain and rinse with cold water.
  • Melt butter in a large saucepan over medium high heat.
  • Add green beans, onions, and garlic.
  • Stir in soy sauce.
  • While stirring, add bouillon and water.
  • Reduce heat to low and simmer, stirring occasionally, for 20 minutes or until beans reach desired tenderness.
  • CAUTION: THIS CAN GET SALTY! If you don't like salty food, use low sodium soy sauce and cut WAAAY back on the bouillon until you get it to your preference. My in-laws are on a low-sodium diet, and they don't like it, but my family can't get enough. Go figure! :).

  1. Yum! another easy to make, quick and healthy weekday meal addition to our menu. We liked this, I did cut the amount of butter down by a tad more than half, since we are trying to eat healthier and I omitted the water and beef bouillon and used a cup of salt free home-made beef stock. Great taste without the sodium. Please see my rating system: 4 excellent stars for a great family recipe that I will be making again with pleasure. Thanks!

  2. These were the best green beans I have ever eaten..... I will be making these from now on.... No more cans for me..... Thank so much for sharing..... I thought 1/2 cup of butter was a lot but it really was the perfect amount.... I did cut the soy sauce down to about 1/4 cup and I used beef broth and only about 1/8 cup of that.....These had the best flavor.....

  3. These are so good! I love green beans and this is now one of my most favorite ways to fix them. Delicious - I wouldn't change a thing.

  4. Yummy!!! Made this and served it along wih Korean marinated flank steak and red potatoes. Everyone loved it. I cut the recipe in half and used low sodium soy and a little over an 1/8 cup of butter and all I can say is we ate it all. Fantastic1 Forgot to give it the star rating...I would give it more than 5 stars but that's all it will let me do. Thank you Gatorbek!

  5. delicious. it was interesting the difference butter made to the taste, since otherwise the soy would have been a little overwhelming i think. The butter smoothed it out.

I live on the coast of Florida, near St. Pete. Great seafood abounds here! Cooking good, family friendly meals is my passion, and my kids are as into it as I am.
