1. One of the best chuck roasts I've ever made!!! The flavors were perfect together. The meat cut with a fork. I made this exactly as written and wouldn't change a thing! Thanx for posting this!

 2. YUMMY !!! This made the house smell so good . It made great gravy , it was NOT sweet as you might think , with all of that ketchup . I added some carrots to the bottom of my crockpot to go along with the roast ! I will be using this recipe again ! Perfect !!

 3. I didn't like this much at all. My husband sort of liked it more then me, but not enough for me to make it again. I did run out of ketchup, so had to use a bit of chili sauce to make up for it, which may have adjusted the taste a bit, but I don't think it was enough to make a difference. It was weird tangy, and not enough sweet, so it tasted kind of funny, and not in a great way. We ate half of it and threw the rest away.

 4. My husband gave this 5 stars! I did not use the gravey mix or the mustard and used beef broth instead of the wine. I added some dried onion too. I probably used more Worcestershire than stated and less ketchup. I also did not thicken it. I put it on last night at about 7pm and when my husband got up at noon(he's working nights) it had been cooking about 17 hours! He said it was really good and tender! Thanks for the great recipe. I can't wait to get home and taste it for myself.

 5. I made this recipe with just a few changes. I didn't have brown gravy so I used Dry Onion Soup mix and threw in a teaspoon of Soy sauce because it was there. This was the most delicious roast I have every made. I can always tell when my husband likes something. It gets really quiet while we are eating. :-) Thank you for sharing.

I am a mother of three and live in central Pennsylvania. My children were very active in after school activities and found we weren't spending anytime together at meal time. In 1998, I decided to start cooking my dinners in a crockpot so that we could have a home cooked meal together once everyone came home. My children now get so excited to see what we are having to eat and love the smell when they walk in the door. My family calls me the crock pot queen. LOL I use my crock pot everyday of the year.

My three children are now in college and before they come home they request their favorite meal. I still continue to cook in the crock pot for my husband and I. It is nice after a long day to know your meal is ready. It also helps in keeping my grocery bill down. With zaar, I can print my shopping list and that is all I purchase is the ingredients on that list.

Now, my two daughters have been crock pot cooking while in college. They find it is easy to cook for the themselves and their friends. It is an easy way to have friends over for dinner after classes

I still love trying new recipes and purchasing cookbooks, especially crock pot cookbooks.

Happy Cooking!
