Sweet and Sour Meatballs

ingredients
- 1 kg ground beef
- 1 egg
- 1 (37 g) packet dry onion soup mix
- 1 tablespoon cooking oil
- salt and pepper
- 1⁄2 cup cornflour

Sauce
- 1 tablespoon cornflour
- 1 teaspoon soya sauce
- 1 (400 g) can crushed pineapple, reserve juice
- 1⁄2 cup brown sugar
- 1⁄2 cup vinegar
directions
- Mix together ground beef, soup, egg and salt and pepper together in large bowl.
- Form into tiny balls.
- Roll in cornflour.
- Heat oil in pan and brown meatballs.
- Place in casserole dish.
- Sauce- Place cornflour, soya sauce, pineapple juice, brown sugar and vinegar in a saucepan.
- Bring to boil stirring contstantly.
- Add pineapple.
- Add to meatballs and heat through in mod oven.
- Nice served with rice.

This is a good recipe, but I will make a few minor changes next time. I think that 2 envelopes of soup mix makes the meatballs much too salty, so next time, I'll just use one, plus a few extra seasonings. Other than that, the dish was great, the sauce held on to the meatballs perfectly, and it all went well over rice with a nice salad. I only wish there had been more sauce. Thanks for sharing, and I will make again, with only a minor tweak or two.
