Sussex Style Steak With Mushrooms for the Crock Pot!

ingredients
- 907.18 g flank steaks
- salt
- pepper
- 59.14 ml flour
- 1 small red onions, thinly sliced or 8 green onions, white part only, thinly sliced
- 59.14 ml condensed beef broth, undiluted
- 59.14 59.14 ml dark beer or 59.14 ml beef broth
- 14.79 ml olive oil
- 3 portabella mushrooms (may add more)
- 29.58 ml balsamic vinegar or 29.58 ml red wine vinegar
- soft fresh goat cheese, crumbled (optional)
directions
- Season the meat with salt and pepper and rub each side with flour. Place in bottom of slow cooker. Lay onions over top and pour in beef broth and port.
- Brush mushrooms with olive oil and lay evenly over meat. Sprinkle with vinegar. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-5 hours.
- When ready to serve, transfer steak with mushrooms to a deep platter. Stir in goat cheese, if using and pour gravy over meat.
- Enjoy!

This recipe was outstanding! I used two steaks (ball tip) that I had frozen- just rubbed the flour on them and dropped them in the crock. 5 hours on high and the meat was falling apart (but not mushy). I used baby bellas, balsamic vinegar, and beef broth. I added the optional goat cheese too. Thanks so much- this will be a dinner i make on a regular basis.
