      Mix 2 tablespoons of soup with rest of ingredients.

      Divide mixture among cabbage leaves.
    3. 3
      Fold in sides.
    4. 4
      Roll up and secure with toothpicks.
    5. 5
      In skillet, place rolls seam side down.
    6. 6
      Add remaining soup.
    7. 7
      Cover; simmer on low 40 minutes.
    8. 8
      Every 10 minutes, spoon sauce over rolls.

      I made a vegetarian version and it was a hit! To save time, I prepared the cabbage leaves, mixed the ingredients so the taste melded then cooked all the next day. I believe I made nine or ten rolls. I definitely will make them whenever I visit my daughter and her husband who are vegetarians. I'm a carnivore but enjoyed this very much--it's too bad my husband isn't and grudgingly ate it.

      I read the ingredients, and thought....oh, I've made a version of this many times. But then I noticed the ground beef wasn't cooked before rolling in the cabbage I found that I was steaming the meat inside the leaves! I used ground round, a leaner cut. I cooked this a bit longer than called for because of the raw meat. I'd add some minced garlic or onion to this next time. Overall, this turned out to be a very enjoyable version of cabbage rolls!
