  1. I've used virtually the same recipe for years. Delicious, and it's so quick and easy to serve as a side dish anytime. I substitute maple syrup for the molasses and add a couple drops of liquid smoke.

  2. I also have made baked beans this way, always using my cast iron skillet and throwing in some Bar BQ sauce and sometimes some fresh garlic minced. (I am a garlic freak....put it in everything!!!) Very good!

  3. I took a few liberties, but still liked the finished product. I used diced rather than minced onions, omitted the green peppers (we were out), and added plenty of diced bacon, which I sauteed with the onions. I thought it was delicious, but my DH said there was WAY too much onion (he doesn't like onion much) so I will make this again but limit the onion to a few shakes of the instant minced variety. Thanks for a great recipe, MizzNezz!

  4. Made these as directed and loved them. Very simple and good. Thanks for sharing.

  5. With no oven for a few days, everything must be done on the stovetop. I found this recipe and am so glad I did. No green peppers for us, but otherwise followed recipe as written. They were so very good. Thank you MizzNezz!

After DH and I moved away from the farm, and to the city...I haven't done as much cooking and very little canning. But I do come to Zaar and look for new recipes once in a while. I'm still cooking Zaar!! I like to play at Facebook, with my family and friends. A lot of my Zaar friends are there!! Yay! It's a good way to keep in touch. We travel more. We're looking at the European trips now. Hope to go in the springtime. I really want to see London, I think I lived there in a past life, I've been obsessed with it since I was 10 years old!!
