- Heat oil on medium heat.
- Saute onion and garlic.
- Add spices.
- Saute one minute.
- Add flour and mix.
- Add broth, lentils, tomato paste and bay leaf.
- Bring to boil, stirring often.
- Cover and reduce heat.
- Simmer for 25 to 30 minutes.
- Remove bay leaf.
- Stir in evaporated milk.
This is a wonderful soup. It has a nice heat to it but it does not cause you to reach for a glass of water. I made half a batch and there was enough soup for 4 people. Since I had some half and half open that is what I used. I adopted this chef for the *Spring PAC 2008* game
