Simple Pasta Casserole

"A friend originally gave me this recipe, and it has been a staple ever since. Especially good when you want to take a meal to someone."

• Ingredients: 5
• Serves: 6-10

ingredients

• 16 ounces penne pasta
• 10 ounces frozen chopped spinach
• 12 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese (3 cups)
• 5 cups spaghetti sauce (amount is flexible depending on how much sauce you like)
• 1 1 lb sausage (optional, I never use it) or 1 lb beef, browned and seasoned (optional, I never use it)

directions

1. Cook noodles as directed on package.
2. Defrost spinach and drain (you don't need to drain it well).
3. Mix cooked noodles, spinach, cheese, and spaghetti sauce, and meat, if used.
4. Spoon into baking dish (9 x 13).
5. Bake, covered at 350F until hot and cheese is melted.

Excellent and easy dish. I added capers, garlic and canned chicken. Also, canned tomatoes with lots of the sauce, which created a blush sauce. Tasted delish. I will be making this again!

Really easy and wonderfully tasting dish. I used hamburger seasoned with garlic powder. I also added mushrooms. Thanks so much for sharing.

This is AMAZING!!!! I did use lean ground beef and it turned out great!! Even my 10 mos. old likes it!! I will defiantly be making this again soon! On top of everything it was very easy and quick clean up. Thanks for the great recipe!! :)

This was good. My kids wondered what the "green stuff" in it was but they ate it and didn't complain :)I followed the recipe as written. Good, quick, hearty weeknight meal.

Great hearty casserole with the added taste and benefit of spinach. Quick to fix, especially if you keep frozen packages of cooked ground beef on hand like I do. This would be perfect for a casual meal for a crowd.
