Simple Chocolate Chai Tea

"I had this in a local coffee shop and became hooked. However, I couldn't always get there to have some, and it was a bit pricey, so I thought maybe I could duplicate it. This is the result and it's quite good, easy and cheap. I guessed on the size of the tea packets, really...they don't exactly label those! Note, chai teas usually contain a bit of caffeine."

  1. This is so simple that I wish I had thought of it first! What a great way to use the bland, watery chai tea bags to their best advantage. This adds a nice subtle spice to hot chocolate. Wonderful! Thanks for sharing this great idea.

  2. Now this is a great cup of chai tea! Its smooth, flavorful and it fulfills my chocolate craving. As my DD says, "!t's Very Tasty!' I used the Oregon Chai Latte powdered packet and I added 10 ounces of water. A perfect pick-me-up in the afternoon. Yummy! This recipe was tagged in the Comfort Cafe tag game.

Hi, I'm pretty busy. I homeschool my two teens while running after my 1 1/2 year old. I work part-time, voluntarily, for a local FSA farm. This works out great as I get lots of fresh, organic produce to use. I love cooking and collect all sorts of cookbooks. Though I do like to cook, I'm wary of branching out and creating some of my own recipes, but as I gain more experience, it's starting to come easier. Now, if only I'd just write those recipes down after I've made them!
