Easy and delicious.

Easy and tasty chicken recipe. I felt it tasted a little too starchy, but that may have been my fault. I employed the Shake & Bake method for adding the cornstarch (added minimum amount of cornstarch to a bag, and shook up all the chicken pieces). I happily cleaned up the leftovers the next day, though. I'll make this again, and I may experiment with the sauce. Maybe a diced fresh chili pepper? Made for PAC Spring '08

Ingredients Nutrition

  • 1 lb chicken breast, cut into 1/2 inch cubes
  • 4 -6 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 egg yolk, beaten with
  • 14 teaspoon salt
  • Sauce

  • 3 tablespoons ketchup
  • 4 tablespoons sugar
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 3 tablespoons cooking oil
  • white sesame seeds

Directions

  1. Marinate chicken cubes with egg yolk and salt for 15 minutes. Lightly dust chicken with cornstarch shaking off the excess. Add 3 tablespoons oil to a hot pan over high heat. Add the chicken and cook ove side until goldden brown, about 1 1/2 - 2 minutes. Turn the chicken over and cook until done. Add oil when needed.
  2. Mix the sauce ingredients. Add sauce to pan. Stir until chicken is coated with the sauce thouroughly. Remove chicken onto a plate. Sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired.
  3. Serve with rice.
