"My husband asked me to make "rice pilaf without the rice." This is just as easy as what you'd buy in a box with perfect flavor, no fillers, and no preservatives."

  1. Me too I had to add 1 cup of chicken broth cause it was not cooked. Besides that the taste is really good. Thanks subaruthie :) Made for Cookbook tag game

  2. This was good but I too had to use more broth and cook a lot longer to get the orzo tender. We really liked the flavor. I liked that it was a different pasta side dish.

  3. The taste is very good! Because there is no chopping of vegetables, this recipe is very quick and easy. However, I followed the recipe's instructions instead of the orzo box, and after the cooking time, my orzo was still crunchy. I had to add quite a bit more chicken broth to get the orzo tender. With a few minor adjustments, this can be a great recipe! Thanks for sharing!

I've always loved cooking and baking, starting as a kid making barbeque sauces, cookies, and pies. My husband is allergic to eggs, milk, and soy, which adds a whole new dimension to cooking. Forget Iron Chef's secret ingredient! I love the challenge of baking and cooking without certain staples. It means a lot of trial and error, but a lot of satisfaction when a recipe works out!
