ingredients

• 1 cup brown sugar
• 1 cup white sugar
• 1 cup Crisco shortening
• 2 eggs, unbeaten
• 2 cups quick oats
• 1 teaspoon vanilla
• 1 1⁄2 cups flour
• 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
• 1⁄2 teaspoon baking soda, mixed
• 1 teaspoon water
• 3⁄4 cup walnuts
• 2 (12 ounce) chocolate chips

directions

1. Cream together the brown sugan, white sugar and shortening.
2. Add remaining ingredients mixing well after each addition.
3. Drop by spoonfulls onto a cookie sheet.
4. Bake for 15 minutes at 300 degrees.
