- In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Let stand until creamy, about 10 minutes.
- Scald milk.
- Add sugar, salt, & Crisco.
- Cool to lukewarm before adding yeast.
- Add half the flour & beat until smooth.
- Add remaining flour.
- Let dough rest 10 minutes.
- Knead on floured board until smooth.
- Place in greased bowl. Cover & let rise in warm place until double in bulk.
- Punch down & rub with melted Crisco.
- Put in refrigerator until needed.
- When ready to bake, remove from refrigerator, preheat oven to 425°.
- Knead lightly, place in greased pans.
- Bake 15-20 minutes.
