  • In a small bowl, dissolve yeast in warm water. Let stand until creamy, about 10 minutes.
  • Scald milk.
  • Add sugar, salt, & Crisco.
  • Cool to lukewarm before adding yeast.
  • Add half the flour & beat until smooth.
  • Add remaining flour.
  • Let dough rest 10 minutes.
  • Knead on floured board until smooth.
  • Place in greased bowl. Cover & let rise in warm place until double in bulk.
  • Punch down & rub with melted Crisco.
  • Put in refrigerator until needed.
  • When ready to bake, remove from refrigerator, preheat oven to 425°.
  • Knead lightly, place in greased pans.
  • Bake 15-20 minutes.
