- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 (19 ounce) cans fava beans, reserving the water (540ml)
- 2 garlic cloves, finely minced
- 4 teaspoons hot pepper, sauce*
- 5 green onions, stalks finely minced
- 5 stalks parsley, finely minced
- 1⁄4 cup red wine
- 1⁄2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1⁄2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1⁄4 teaspoon cumin
- 1⁄2 teaspoon paprika
- salt & pepper, to taste
directions
- Heat the olive in a sauce pan. Once hot, add the garlic, onions, and parsley then saute for a few minutes.
- Drain the Fava Beans, reserving the liquid. To the pan, add the Fava Beans, wine, spices and some of the reserved water.
- Cook over medium heat 8 - 10 minutes, stirring occasionally and adding more water as sauce dries.
- Taste and adjust seasonings.
- *This is ground red pepper made from fresh peppers. Available in the International section of the grocery store.
