This is another recipe using puffed rice (Murmura, mumra, mamra or Pori) as puffed in india. This is sweet. Variations: Peanuts, cashews, roasted edamame, pretzels, rice crackers, wasabi peas, coconut, raisins, almonds, pecans etc etc

Ingredients Nutrition

  • 1 cup rice, puffed (Murmura, mumra, mamra or Pori)
  • 14 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoons ghee
  • 2 teaspoons oil

Directions

  1. The puffed rice should be crunchy, if not, roast in 200F oven for 20 minutes.
  2. Powder puffed rice coarsely.
  3. Heat oil in fry pan.
  4. Add sugar and stir.
  5. When it turns brown, add pori and stir well.
  6. Transfer to a greased or silicone pan/plate.
  7. Cut into pieces.
  8. Variations: Peanuts, cashews, roasted edamame, pretzels, rice crackers, wasabi peas, coconut, raisins, almonds, pecans etc etc.
  9. When cool, store in a jar.
  10. I can be kept for 2 weeks.
