- 2 cups sugar
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 1⁄2 cup water
- 1 dash salt
- 2 cups shelled peanuts
- 1 1⁄2 tablespoons butter
- 1 1⁄2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 teaspoons baking soda
directions
- Combine sugar, syrup, water and salt in a heavy saucepan and cook over low heat to 230 degrees F.
- Stir in peanuts and cook to 302 degrees F.
- Remove pan from heat and blend in butter, vanilla, and soda.
- Pour hot mixture ont buttered marble slab or stoneware platter.
- When cool and hardened, break into pieces.
