Easy and quick to make. This also makes a great dip for toasted ravioli or cheesy bread sticks.
- 15 ounces tomato sauce
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 teaspoons dried basil
- 2 teaspoons dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1⁄2 teaspoon salt
- 1⁄4 teaspoon pepper
- Combine ingredients in a small saucepan and simmer, covered, for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Adjust seasonings (salt, pepper, sugar) to taste and allow to cool to at least room temp before using on pizza.
- Makes enough sauce for 1 pizza.
I needed a 15 ounces of pizza sauce for Pepperoni Pizza Casserole and this is the one I did. But I just combined the ingredients and put it in the recipe. No boiling. It was perfect. Thanks :)
Fantastic pizza sauce! 5+ stars for taste and for being so easy to make with items I always have on hand! My DH says we should make this a household regular. I used this sauce for a fresh veggie pizza on our favorite pizza crust (Healthy Italian Breadsticks or Pizza Crust). Thanks! Made for ZWT4.
