  1. The Pizza Hut recipe secret is to marinate the cooked pasta overnight in chicken soup. We used a powder called chicken base, but essentially it was just chicken soup.

  2. I remembered eating this at Pizza Hut in Memphis, TN in the '70's. After putting my version of it in the oven, from memory recall, I thought I'd look for a recipe. I wasn't too far off base. It should still be good :)

  3. I remember eating this at the Pizza Hut in Abilene, Texas in the early 70's. I craved it for years!! So glad to finally find the recipe. It is just how I remembered it. The sauce of course was not as sweet because I use low sugar sauce. There is a sauce out there that starts with a "P" that would make it a clone. Thank you so much!!!

  4. Perfect....it tastes exactly like pizza huts....loved it, the only thing I changed was I used turkey pepperoni and turkey italian sausage...

  5. I worked @ pizza hut also in the '80s. We served this also. I would & still cook this for my family the exact same way & they absolutely love it.

Tweaks

  1. For the 1/4 lb spiral shaped pasta, 1/4 lb shell noodles, and 1/4 lb wheel noodles, you can use a 12 oz bag of Wacky Mac Veggie Shapes pasta. This pasta is multicolored. Unfortunately, they do not offer the shapes in a natural color. I add 1 can (4 ounces) mushroom stems and pieces, drained. I don't heat the spaghetti sauce, I just pour it over the pasta, the meats and the veggies. I've tried layering the ingredients. I end up with one layer. You really need a big pan to make this!! This makes a lot!!

I am a teacher who is near the end of my career. I have many craft interests and have just added cooking to my list. Since I like to keep a check on what DH eats I usually try to follow the WW diet and just love their cookbooks. Recipezaar has become the answer to my many cookbooks and recipes I gather and just can't seem to get organized. MMMMM maybe in retirement. <img src="http://i42.photobucket.com/albums/e347/Saturn6666/KiwiDutch/3chefstag1.jpg">
