- Place apples and cider in heavy saucepan over medium heat. Cook, stirring frequently, until mixture comes to a boil.
- Lower heat and simmer, stirring frequently, for about 1 hour, or until apple slices have disintegrated and butter is thick.
- Remove from heat and stir in cinnamon.
- Pour into sterilized jars. Seal and process according to directions in a reputable canning guide.
