- 1 cup warm water (about 100 degrees F)
- 1⁄4 teaspoon white sugar
- 1 1⁄8 teaspoons dry yeast
- 2 1⁄2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1⁄4 cup white sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1⁄4 cup butter, melted
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1⁄4 teaspoon oregano
- 1⁄8 teaspoon pepper
- 1⁄2 parsley
- 1⁄8 teaspoon garlic salt
- 1⁄2 cup parmesan cheese
- 30 -40 slices of pizza pepperoni
- 1⁄2 cup of shredded mozzarella cheese
directions
- Dissolve 1/4 teaspoon sugar in 1/2 cup of warm water in a small bowl. Sprinkle yeast over the water and let stand for 5 minutes.
- Mix flour, 1/4 cup sugar, and salt in a bowl.
- Stir in yeast mixture, beaten egg, and melted butter.
- When the dough has pulled together, turn it out onto a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth and elastic, about 8 minutes.
- Lightly grease a large bowl, and then place the dough in the bowl and turn it to coat will oil.
- Cover and either let in rise in a warm place until doubled in size (about an hour and a half) or place in the refrigerator overnight.
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees F.
- Mix together 1 beaten egg, the oregano, pepper, parsley, garlic salt, and parmesan cheese in a small bowl.
- Punch down the dough and divide it into 10 equal pieces.
- Using your hands, flatten each piece into a small rectangle about 4 inches square.
- Spread a thin layer of filling on the dough.
- Place 3-4 slices of pepperoni on each dough square, overlapping.
- Sprinkle a little mozzarella cheese on top of the pepperoni.
- Roll the dough around the pepperoni/cheese, and pinch the edges close.
- Place the rolls on a prepared cookie sheet with the seam-side down.
- Bake for about 15-20 minutes or until the bottoms are lightly browned and tops are barely golden.
