Chewy Peanut Butter Cookies

  • Heat oven to 375°F.
  • In a large bowl, combine 1/2 cup sugar, brown sugar, and butter.
  • Beat until fluffy.
  • Add peanut butter, vanilla and egg, mix well.
  • In a separate bowl, combine flour, baking soda and salt.
  • Mix dry ingredients together with a fork or wire whisk.
  • Add dry ingredients to the peanut butter mixture, 1/2 cup at a time, mixing well.
  • Scoop dough with a 1 1/2-inch cookie scoop.
  • Place 2 inches apart on cookie sheets lightly sprayed with Pam.
  • Dip fork in 1/8 cup sugar and flatten dough with a crisscross pattern.
  • Lightly sprinkle sugar on the cookies.
  • Bake at 375°F for 6 to 9 minutes until golden brown.
  • Let cookies cool on cookie sheet for one minute.
  • Put cookies on wire racks to cool completely before putting in a cookie jar.

  2. This recipe is delicious! Yes, I used real butter. I used creamy peanut butter and I added in 1 cup reeses peanut butter chips! I'm a batter girl, and this is great by the spoonful or the cookie! Thanks!

  4. My mom gave me this recipe years ago and they are so delicious!! I bake mine for about 9 minutes and take them out when they look underdone, as they harden up a lot after you take them out. We love our cookies soft and chewie. Sometimes I add a heaping tablespoon cocoa powder for a slight chocolate flavor. Yum!!
     
  5. Wouldn't you know the first recipe I tried was something sweet and was very good. I didn't have crunchy/instead used creamy. They came out creamy with the outer edges having a slight crunch. Just the way we like them. Thanks
