Peanut Butter and Butterscotch Rice Krispies Squares

"Another recipe from the 1980 version of the Grace Evangelical Congregational Church cookbook from Muir, Pennsylvania that was given to me by my Nana when I became an adult. This recipe was submitted to the cookbook by Florence Miller who is my Nana's sister and always called 'Aunt Puss' by myself. I look the most like her than of any of the other Muir family members I have met."

 1. My aunt has made these my whole life, we call them "addicta-bars". Once you start you can't stop. They are delicious. I was thrilled to find a recipe that reminded me of my childhood. I love these. I actually mixed about 6oz each of the chocolate and butterscotch chips and then just spread it like frosting and allowed to chill for about 30 minutes before I cut them. YUMMY!

 2. I mean really, how could you give these any less than 5 stars?!?!?!? Great tasting and super easy. I cut the recipe in half and used a smaller baking dish. I also used Splenda in place of the sugar to decrease on calories and it worked like a charm; I may even use half the Splenda next time. I used half the amt of butterscotch chips, melted them and smeared them over the treats, then melted half the amt of choco chips and did zig zags over the top. Next time I am going to throw the butterscotch chips whole into the cereal mixture and then drizzle just the chocolate on top. Thanks for a keeper!

 3. YUMMY!!!! DH wanted to take a treat to work this evening and this was exactly the right kind of easy, no bake, no gosh do I have "that" in the pantry treat to make! This is going straight into my "Go To" file! I did run out of white corn syrup so used enough honey to make up the difference. Also melted my chips in the microwave, stirring after every minute. Worked great! I will use this often I'm sure! Made for 1.2.3 Hits

 4. You'll never eat plan old rice krispie squares again. The butterscotch chips are a delicious addition.

 5. Wow! These are really good ! I am hoping there will some left, by the time DW gets home. I think the kids are acting like this is dinner. Anyway, these are better than rice krispy treats. Love the butterscotch flavor.

I am originally from the Philadelphia area of the United States but have been living in London, UK since 1996. I now have dual American and British citizenship. I became a widow at the age of 27 in 2004 but have managed to fall in love again and was married again on July 19, 2008. I have a double major honors degree in sociology and politics and am slowly working my way through a Masters. I am a wanabee writer but until that dream becomes a reality I work in internet marketing where I build websites for profit. So, it is nice to come to a site like this and just enjoy being on the internet rather than using it as a work environment. I am a BBW (big woman) but over the past two years I have lost over 80lbs and am working my way down the scales slowly but steadily. These days, I am trying to eat a lot less meat. So, I am trying to have as many vegetarian recipes in the week as I can manage. I have started a blog - Weekend Carnivore where I blog about trying to eat a mostly vegetarian diet. I share a lot of my discovered recipes there. If I make one of your vegetarian recipes and I managed to take a good photo of it, chances are I will blog about it and tell everybody how much I enjoyed it.
