Pancakes

"This is one of my family's favourite breakfasts. My son recently did a project at school where he told his grade one class that his favourite family celebration was Shrove Tuesday because he loves pancakes!"

  1. These are light and fluffy and went fast when I made them this morning. I did add 1 teaspoon of vanilla to this. Thanks for posting this recipe.

  2. Great recipe. Easy to follow and tasted great. We doubled this recipe with no problems. I added some extra milk to get the batter to the consistency I prefer, but it is very dry in my home due to winter. I don't think this is the fault of the recipe. My kids ate these like no tomorrow. Thanks for sharing.

  3. These were great. A wonderful basic pancake recipe that made light fluffy pancakes. I added about 1/4 cup extra flour because we like our pancakes thick. I am looking forward to trying this with all sorts of variations; adding vanilla, cinnamon, choc chips, orange extract or anything else I can think of. A great easy recipe with everything I always have on hand.

  4. We really enjoyed these pancakes. Ours weren't super fluffy (but that's ok!), and I found them a little sweeter than other recipes I've tried. Thanks for posting!

I'm from a small town in Southwestern Ontario and am a Mom to three wonderful 'Little Chefs'. My favourite cookbooks are Cottage Life's Summer Weekend Cookbook, Robin Hood's Baking Festival Cookbook and the old standard, the Joy of Cooking - all are reliable and excellent. My eyes have been opened to the simplicity and elegance of gourmet cooking through a few choice cookbooks, and a subscription to the Food Network Magazine. I love to cook and am trying to expand my recipe box repertoire. Zaar is my favourite cookbook by far. I love that I can lose a recipe and access it again and again. My computer has actually replaced my treasured recipe box. My absolute favourite thing about Recipezaar (beside no ads!) is the sense of community and togetherness between the members.
