This got mixed reviews at my house. I think we were expecting something different. They did turn out like the picture. I followed the recipe as written other then I used splenda instead of sugar. My youngest and I liked them but no one else did. I did think they were a bit "eggy". I don't like making pancakes as I think they are too much work and was looking for more of a pancake taste.

Just the recipe I was looking for! DH grew up on his grandmother's Dutch Babies & I lost my simple (no cast iron required) recipe. I've been making basically this same recipe for 10 years for him & when I found this by complete chance (browsing newly posted recipes) I couldn't wait to make them for him! We like our Dutch Babies with powdered sugar & homemade maple syrup but sometimes we use berry syrups, jams or the traditional lemon wedge. This is less trouble than pancakes or french toast & can easily be whipped up for breakfast or dessert. I've also done them in individual ramekins for desserts. Thanks for sharing this recipe, Experimenter! Made for Zaar Chef Alphabet Soup Game.

I love spending time in the kitchen and trying new things. Since becoming a teacher I have had little time in the kitchen. I have two daughters, Sierra 11, and Chase 9; they have been helping out with cooking a lot lately and I love it as much as they do! My husband tries his hand at cooking once in a while and I think he secretly enjoys it.
