  1. We love this recipe and it is so easy! Sometimes we skip the beef bouillon cube and just season it with pepper and 1/4 teaspoon of salt.

  2. Since we don't have Walla-Walla's here in the South......well you know what we have down here! Have forgot all about this great dinner side dish, thanks. If you melt the butter, pour in hole and let sit for 5 min you can add more butter for an extra creamy onion.

  3. WE just love onions cooked this way, always a huge hit with everyone, even those who are self professed "onion haters." If in a hurry, we prepare them as written here but wrap in celephane and cook in the microwave, we find they are just as good this way, we like our's really soft.

  4. This is a grillers delight. I made these all last year when we grill out, and that's a lot. When I don't have a walla walla or another sweet onion I use the biggest yellow onions I have and the results are almost the same...DELICIOUS. Just toss them on the grill and when they are soft, they're done. (Can't wait for grilling weather again.) This recipe is a must for onion lovers. Great recipe. Thanks for posting it. Chuck

  5. Just a suggestion: Try wraping in foil and throwing on the grill. Been making these for years and never a BBQ goes by with at least 4 of them grilling away.

Fortunately, my husband enjoys cooking too (one pot meals), so he relieves me a few times a month.
