"A wonderful salad that's great for pot lucks or as a side dish to your favorite make at home Chinese dinner. Whenever I make this for pot lucks, I come home with a clean bowl and requests for the recipe."

  • Chop cabbage and onions. Place into a large bowl and set aside.
  • Remove ramen noodles and set set aside seasoning packets.
  • Place ramen noodles into a zip lock bag and crush with rolling pin.
  • In a large frying pan, melt butter over medium high heat.
  • Add crushed ramen noodles, almonds and sesame seeds, frying until they are golden brown in color. Remove from heat.
  • Add seasoning packets to the ramen noodles. Stir well and set aside.
  • In a small bowl combine sugar, vinegar,oil and soy sauce. Dressing does not incorporate well.
  • Add ramen mix to cabbage and top with dressing.
  • Toss to coat.
  • If you are using this for a pot luck, keep cabbage, dressing and ramen noodles seperate until just before serving.
