- 2 (3 ounce) packages chicken-flavored ramen noodles
- 1⁄2 cup sliced almonds
- 2 tablespoons sesame seeds
- 1⁄2 cup butter
- 4 green onions, chopped
- 1 green cabbage, chopped into bite size pieces
- 1⁄2 cup sugar
- 1⁄4 cup cider vinegar
- 3⁄4 cup vegetable oil
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
directions
- Chop cabbage and onions. Place into a large bowl and set aside.
- Remove ramen noodles and set set aside seasoning packets.
- Place ramen noodles into a zip lock bag and crush with rolling pin.
- In a large frying pan, melt butter over medium high heat.
- Add crushed ramen noodles, almonds and sesame seeds, frying until they are golden brown in color. Remove from heat.
- Add seasoning packets to the ramen noodles. Stir well and set aside.
- In a small bowl combine sugar, vinegar,oil and soy sauce. Dressing does not incorporate well.
- Add ramen mix to cabbage and top with dressing.
- Toss to coat.
- If you are using this for a pot luck, keep cabbage, dressing and ramen noodles seperate until just before serving.
