What fun! I got this from a Family Fun magazine, I believe. After 1st review, I went back to clarify some instructions to make it easier. :D Have fun!

Ingredients Nutrition

  • 20 wooden popsicle sticks or 20 lollipop sticks
  • 20 Oreo Double Stuff cookies (must use Double Stuff or it won't work)
  • 1 (12 ounce) package semi-sweet chocolate chips or 1 (12 ounce) package white chocolate chips
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil (I use 1/4 block paraffin)
  • chopped nuts
  • colored sprinkles
  • coconut
  • miniature candies like miniature M&M's chocolate candies or Reese's pieces

  1. To form Oreo® Pops, hold both outsides of oreo with good hold but not too hard, slide the stick in the cream filling gently glide it in but make sure not to have it go to the other side. (I have also heard if you put them on the defrost mode of microwave for 10 seconds before putting the stick in that it helps). Put in freezer for 10 minutes.
  2. In a small saucepan over low heat, combine chocolate and oil until melted and smooth, stirring constantly. I have melted in this in the microwave on 70% power for 1 minute - stir, then additional 20-30 seconds until melted.
  3. Dip each cookie into the melted chocolate, coating evenly. Place dipped cookies on greased waxed paper and decorate with your choice of items.
  4. Put cookies in fridge for an hour or until set. Then wrap in plastic wrap and tie with a bow for gift-giving.

Made these with my DGSs and had so much fun with them. They both gave them a full 5 stars and were so proud of them when they were done. A little sweet for me, but then made them for my sweet loving boys. A hint to those of you having trouble with the adding the sticks. I had seen a hint that worked great. Before dipping, insert the stick inside the cookie and they separate EASY and even leave the indention for the stick - be sure and put a spot of the chocolate over the frosting where the stick is so that when you put them back together it all sticks when the chocolate hardens. I did all this step before I even started dipping so that the cookies were set.

Loved it!!! I decorated the pops to look like Frosty and Santa!! The clear colored sugar sprinkels are great for decorating them also! They were a big hit!!!

These are very yummy! I used white chocolate to coat the oreos. I ended up doing them just as the cookies, not as the pops. I just couldn't get the stick, oreo & white chocolate to cooperate. I tried though! Nonetheless this is a very tasty little treat. Made for PRMR Tag.
